The Experiment

Every now and then, you hear of a small child who saved their mother's life because she collapsed and the child called 9-1-1.

This is not my child.

A few weeks ago, I did an experiement.

I collapsed on the kitchen floor and was unresponsive to any and all poking and prodding.

My children thought it was a game and they climbed all over me. They didn't care that I didn't even respond to my name or to their climbing.

I did this again today with the same result.

If you ever hear about the mother who was found unconscious while her children used her lifeless body as a jungle gym...that would be me.
