Can I even laugh at this?

I got out of bed this morning and got the kids up. Nolan exited his room telling me how he was playing "Tom dies on the cross." (from Tom and Jerry)

I mean, it's great that he is so interested in the Bible and loves to read it. But should a five year old be reenacting the death on the cross with a cartoon character? and is it bad to say that I laughed at the obsurdity of the imagination of my oldest child?
