Taco Salad

This is what I'm having for dinner....how about you?

1 pound of cooked hamburger
1 head of lettuce, chopped
2-3 tomatoes, chopped
1/2 of a small onion, finely chopped
16 ounces thousand island dressing
16 ounces taco sauce
2 cups of cheddar cheese
a bag or Doritos

Place hamburger, lettuce, tomatoes, onion and cheese in a large bowl. Mix together.

In another bowl, mix together the dressing and the taco sauce.

Pour the mixed sauce into the larger bowl, mixing to cover all ingredients.

When you are ready to serve, break up the Doritos into smaller pieces. Place Doritos in the bottom of your bowl and spoon the taco salad on top and mix!

You don't want to mix all the chips into the mixture, unless you are bringing the salad to a potluck where you know it will get mostly eaten. The chips will soften if you mix it all together and will get mushy.

You can add more of the ingredients if you want more tomatoes or lettuce, etc. Or you can downsize to make smaller amounts. Just remember that it is equal parts thousand island and taco sauce.

This sounds very yummy. We're having leftovers...either homemade chicken pot pie or spaghetti and meatballs. Then whatever we don't eat tonight, we'll eat tomorrow! Sound exciting?
